The Town Council each year precepts (taxes) it parishioners so that it has sufficient money to carry outs its programme each year. This money is collected as part of the council tax paid to the Forest of Dean District Council. The District Council then transfer the precept back to the Council on an ½ yearly basis.
Consequently the Town Councils funds are its parishioner’s funds therefore it is imperative that all transactions are open to scrutiny by the public.

Each year the Council allocates a sum of money to support organisations and groups within the parish or that support parishioners but operate outside the parish. This money is given in the form of grants from a few pounds to £2500.00. If you want to know more about grants please click here.
