Coleford Town Council would like to appoint a main contractor that specialises in historic building conservation to undertake essential repairs and alterations to the Grade II listed clock tower located in the town centre of Coleford, Forest of Dean.
The appointed contractor will ensure that the repair and alteration works are carried out sensitively, upholding the heritage significance of this Grade II listed building and complying with all approved drawings and proposals. The appointed contractor will need to provide evidence of having previously worked on similar nineteenth century or listed buildings.
Furthermore, the main contractor will act as a Principal Contractor under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM 2015) and will plan, manage and coordinate all health and safety aspects during the planned construction phase to manage the various site risks. The contractor will need to demonstrate a good health and safety record and uphold the highest standards of safety and training as part of their eligibility.
